Bourjois CC Cream Range

Hello! Recently I have been trialling a few new bases to see if there are any high street picks that will be able to replace my Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer when it runs our (sad face), so when I spotted these in Boots (3 for 2 - hello!) I decided to give them a go. They are the 123 Perfect CC Cream and the 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream.

Lets start with the CC Cream. I really like this stuff as it feels really light to apply but gives you decent coverage. It is very thin when it comes out of the tube, so I like to use it with a brush, specifically the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, instead of my hands. I also find that this stuff does have colour correcting properties to it, as it cancels out the redness of blemishes and some darker spots pretty well. The only problems I have with this is that the colour range is pretty atrocious and it doesn't feel hydrating at all. I find that the Healthy Mix Foundation by Bourjois is a more hydrating option, and it gives better coverage but that is expected.

The CC Eye Cream is a thing I haven't seen anything similar to on the high street. It has a really thin consistency compared to other under eye concealers, so isn't very high coverage. I do find this product very hydrating on the eye area which is a problem I have so this has become a very well loved product of mine. It does colour correct the dark circles sightly, but if you have very intense dark colour or bags under your eyes then this definitely won't cover it. I also really like the silicone applicator as it's much more hygienic than a brush or sponge and is still gentle when you use it under your eyes. Again, the only problem I have with this product is the colour range, I think there are only two shades to pick from which isn't enough. Also I wish they had one that was more of a pinky tone to help counter act the dark blues under my eyes.

So all in all I do really like these products and i'm sure I will use them often, but I am still on the hunt for something that gives coverage and hydration like my Bobbi Brown base.

Lots of love,
Hayley.

My Trip To London

Recently, I took a trip to London to do a course so today I thought I would share some of the photos I took whilst I was there!

Some I took with my phone & some with my camera.

We went to Bens Cookies on Carnaby Street & it was SOOOOO good! I loved the chocolate orange one.

This was waiting for us on the main bed in the hotel. I thought it was really cute.

This was the view from the hotel. This lights were so bright I couldn't get my camera to handle it properly but I think this photo looks pretty cool!

I have a bunch more photos on my instagram @hazbeef!

Lots of love,
Hayley

February Favourites!

It is the end of another month (already?!) so I have a few products I would like to share with you that I have been loving this month. They aren't the funnest of products as I was trying to save as much as possible last month, but I hope you find this interesting anyway!

First of all I have been loving the Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer - phew long name. This stuff is great to slap on in the morning when I can't really be bothered using a brush. It gives a really decent coverage for a tinted moisturiser too. The only problem I have with this is the colour range isn't great, I have the shade Extra Light and it's still a little dark for me, but I can make it work.

The NARS Laguna Bronzer has been a go to to give my face some colour. It's an idiot proof product as I find you can never put too much on so I never look orange if I go a bit crazy with it. It has a slight hint of shimmer to it just to give a bit of glow, and I just think it's perfect. Need I say any more about this product?

Next up is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner. I started using this stuff every night this month, and in conjunction with the next product it has really cleared up my skin. I still get the odd few spots on my jawline but nothing as big and as many as there used to be (gross I know). This stuff is a toner with tamarind fruit acids to eliminate impurities and dead skin cells, and white nettle extract to tighten to pores. I do find that this stuff really works, so if you're looking for an exfoliator that's very gentle and not a manual one, I would give this a try. This stuff works for every skin type too.

The other product which has been saving my skin this month is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (the original, not the plus, as I haven't tried that yet!) I use this every night after the Clarins toner to help unblock any pores and help get rid of any spots I have and it has really been getting into my skin and getting it looking decent! I don't think I could live without this product!

And last but not least is a lipstick. I have been wanting to find a nude lipstick that would work on me for ages, i've been to the MAC counter, Bobbi Brown, all of them and nothing seemed to sit right on my lips. I have very brightly coloured lips naturally, and as I am so super pale it has been hard to find something that doesn't make me look ill. But I have found something, and I have been loving it. It is the the Stay Pout lipstick in the colour Going Steady by Seventeen. Yep, Seventeen. One of the most bargainous brands out there has supplied me with this beautiful peachy nude lipstick. This product doesn't have any glitter in it but it's not matte, it's kind of a sheeny finish which is perfect. If you have never tried a Seventeen lipstick, I am telling you now to get to a counter and try one. They have great pigmentation and lasting power. I have been loving layering this one with Tanya Burrs lip gloss in the colour Chic.

Well that's everything for this month, my 5 most loved products of February.

What have you been loving this last month? Any recommendations for me?

Lots of love,
Hayley.
