My New Years Resolutions!

I just thought as it's the last day of 2013 I should write a post to signify it. This isn't make-up related, or anything related really, so it will probably bore most of you, but I think it's always important to make a note of your new years resolutions so you can see if you have achieved them the next year!

So, mine include:
  1. Read more. I really want to start reading more in 2014, as feel this year I only read when I went on holiday, and now i regret it. I love to read and you can learn so much from a book!
  2. Learn how to cook in general, but especially healthy food. I'm not going to put the same old stuff about losing weight or exercising more, but this kind of relates. I want to be able to cook healthy, yummy food for my family (and I also really enjoy looking at cookbooks!).
  3. Write at least 1 blog post per week. I really enjoy this blog, so hopefully as the year goes on it will get better and better!
That's all of them, I think....

I had loads of different ideas of what I could do this coming year (I think at the most i had about 6) but I think keeping it down to 3 achievable important things is a good idea. I can think about more of the little things later.

So, what are your new years resolutions?

Oh, and

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Love, Hayley.

My New Day Time Fragrance!

I got this as a gift for my birthday last week from my Mum & Dad, and I nearly jumped for joy when I saw it! I have never owned a Jo Malone cologne (as they call it) before, and have wanted one for a long time. As a tea lover this one is perfect for me, and look how preeetty!

On the Jo Malone website it is described as "A fragrance with a burst of bergamot, distinct to Earl Grey, and the cool succulence of crunchy cucumber. Counterpoised with a sweet base of beeswax, vanilla and musk. " And I must say, it is beautiful. The scent is so long lasted that I can still smell it at the end of a busy day of working and every time I get a whiff it makes me feel calm and collected, even if i'm stressed out of my head one minute before.

I would say it is worth the slightly hefty price tag & would definitely recommend heading to your local counter and having a smell. And I promise, you won't regret it.

Love, Hayley.

20th Birthday FOTD + OOTD

Hello!

Today was my 20th birthday, so i thought i would share with you my make up and outfit (kind of) that i decided to wear on this special day.

These are the products i decided to use today for a pretty minimal look. Neutral eyes, a pretty pink lip & a pop of peach on the cheeks.

The make up in action.

This cardigan is from Primark and it only cost me about £14! One of the best buys i have made all year. It is so soft and cozy, and all of the rose gold sequins have been sewn on individually. I also really like the zip detail and bomber look, i think it looks very modern and i absolutely love it!

These boots are from Marks & Spencers, and oh my god, they are the most comfortable heeled shoes i have ever worn. I have been in them all day and i think i could go on in them. I also love the colour as it's not black but a dark grey. Slightly different for the winter days.

We went to a pub near to me and it was sooooo christmassy in there! I loved it and it made me feel very festive and jolly. I mean, look at the christmas tree! Bad quality picture, but i had to zoom as i was sat quite far away!

Super cute decs!

My older brother being a bit of a creep with his steak.

Anyway guys, sorry for the super long post but i have had a fabulous day and wanted to share it with you, i hope you don't mind!

Lot's of love,
Hayley

Yankee 'Simply Home' Christmas Candles!

Candles are my weakness, or at least one of my many many weaknesses, so this year i decided to go all out FESTIVE and get some christmassy smelling ones.

I decided to go for Yankee Candles because 1) I adore how they smell, 2) They last a while and 3) I think that they are pretty darn affordable! I found these ones in my local Asda store, which i was totally stunned and pleased by as i have never seen Yankee Candles so close to home before. I went for 'Christmas Treats' and 'Apple Spice Potpourri', two completely different scents but both lurvly.

I would have to say that my favourite scent of the two would be Christmas Treats, as it just smells so yummy like biscuits in the oven!

I had to put this picture in, look at Gimli being all sneaky in the background.

They have lasted me a long time so far, and i have been burning the a lot (as you can probably tell). If you are indeed looking for some festive candles this season, i would definitely recommend these ones!

Lots of love,
Hayley.

i got a new camera!

Hey guys!

Yesterday i got a new camera as an early birthday/christmas present from myself to myself (naughty), and i have been really enjoying fiddling around with it and learning all of the features!

Here are a few snaps i have taken with it so far.

Minnie cat playing with some tinsel!

Me with my new blog name (hopefully this one will stick)

Mummy with the christmas tree!

The only problem i have now is that i don't have any kind of photo editing software on my mac and the newest version of photoshop looks awfully confusing (and it's awfully expensive!), so if you have any tips that might help me out i would LOVE to hear them!

Lots of love,
Hayley

Thursday 5 December 2013

Uh oh.

How much have i failed at blogging? Actually, don't answer that.

I've been really bad and i only have myself to blame. I was thinking stupid things like "But people aren't going to like it!" and "No body will even know it's there!", but that's just ruddy stupid. It's time to start caring less about what other people think, and more about what I enjoy. Now that is a sentence to live by!

Anyway, i'm still just as obsessed with beauty, and fashion, and everything else, i've just been a lot less vocal about it. And hopefully (fingers crossed) now i've got my fancy new laptop, i will make this into a more regular thing. If i find something i love it will be on here, even if there isn't a fancy background or fantastic lighting, sorry!

But anyway, i will see you soon with a post about something i love!

Lots of love,
Hayley

Empty Products!

Well, hello again. It's been a while, hasn't it. Turns out i'm not great at keeping up with my blog but i am determined to be better (I know - that's what they all say!). But i have been planing a couple of posts, if that counts as an excuse?

ANYWAY, let's get down to business - my empty products. Recently, i have been trying new moisturisers for my face and body because i have really strange skin (my body is sensitive and my face is normal to dry) and i was given the Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter at christmas, so i gave it a go. The first thing i noticed about this product was the smell. Yes, it was lovely but having sensitive, exczema prone skin means a scented body product is normally a no go. Next time your in boots though, do give it a sniff! This is probaby my favourite scent they've brought out yet, but sadly this product didn't go well with my skin, as it left me itching at during the day if i had used in the morning after a shower. But the consistency was lovely, thick and creamy without being too liquidy or too hard. It also spread very well so a little of this product really went a long way. I did like this product but i don't think i'll be rushing out to buy it again because the scent is quite overpowering and it left me itching. Maybe in the summer when my skin has seen the sun and is a bit less dry, i'll try this one again.

The next body moisturiser i tried was this Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion. This is a fragrance free (always promising!) moisturising lotion that was recommended to me by a pharmacist after i told her about my dry itchy skin. In the past i have been to the doctors about it, and he gave me a steroid cream which does work, but i would rather not use all of the time because of the clinical smell and it comes in such a small tube! So, i started using this and i loved it. The lotion was quite thin so it sunk in really quickly, and i use quite a lot so i sped through this which i don't mind as it's only £5.49 a tube! (currently only £3.49 in superdrug or on the website!). The only problem which is hardly a problem is that it smells a bit strange because of the oatmeal in it (i know, i'm fussy with smells!) I am also currently using the Aveeno body wash but i will go into that in another post. I would definitely try this brand out if you suffer from dry or sensitive skin.

The next empty product i have is the Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser for combination/oilty skin. I know, what was i thinking? Well, i was thinking the normal/combination Liz Earle Moisturiser was too thick so i'll try the lighter one. I love the brand so i thought this would work for me, but it wasn't a good idea. I have used the majority of it up, but it moisturised my skin for about 10 minutes before i had to put on another, thicker moisturiser. I'm sure this skin would be perfect for anyone with oilier skins though, just not one for me.

Now i have a concealer that every beauty blogger and vlogger has been raving about for a while now, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and i bought the shade Fair 1, the palest of them all. This really is a nice concealer, it's thick and blends nicely but i think i bought a shade too light for me (shocker!). I don't think i really need to talk much about this product, just go and try it yourself.

And my last empty product which just suddenly dried up like the sahara desert is the Benefit They're Real! Mascara. And that is the only real complaint about this product i have. It curls and coats lashes nicely and i absolutely adore the packaging (i promise this isn't the main reason i bought this mascara!) It has got a plastic wand, but i don't mind that. All in all a nice mascara but i think you can get the same effect with a cheaper one, or get a better effect by spending a little bit more.

Well, that's all for now! Do you have any empty products you'll be rushing out to repurchase or anything disappointing? Let me know!

25 Facts about ME!

So, this is going to be another, slightly more intense get to know me post!

Right then, let's get started.

1) I love tattoos! I have got one already & I intend on getting more :)

2) I am a Girl Guide! Well, i am now training to be a Guide Leader but i have been a part of Girl Guiding since I was 11 and I love it.

3) I will eat almost anything, as long as it's not alive when i eat it, or a baby (like veal, NO WAY!)

4) I find it difficult to go a day without having a cup of tea.

5) I try and keep mints or chewing gum on me at all times. I'm pretty OCD about it because i hate
when people have bad breath, and i never want it.

6) I have a LOT of girl crushes, including Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried to name a few!

7) Emma Watson is my all time role model. Everything about her is perfect.

8) As you can probably guess by my previous fact, i LOVE Harry Potter a lot a lot! I have a bunch of merchandise varying from a t-shirt to a keyring to a Buckbeak cuddly toy! I've even visted the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford. Best. Day. Ever!

9) My best claim to fame (for now!) is that i walked down the aisle in my local cathedral with the actor who plays Roy Cropper in the soap Coronation Street, and i got his autograph! "Oh you're names Hayley? That's a coincidence."

10) I love Cath Kidston. I have lots of things from her shop, including the notebook i use to write all of my notes in. I love her prints!

11) I will watch any crime drama tv programme that there is, they're my favourite genre of tv and i love them. Even Rosemary & Thyme.

12) Taylor Swift is my all time favourite musician. I even asked for a guitar on my birthday once just so i could be more like her, (don't tell my parents!)

13) My favourite disney princess is Ariel. Mainly because of her fantastic hair.

14) I've fractured my right wrist 3 times. Each cause is quite comical but i won't go into that now!

15) I have two ginger tom cats and a lady dog, Gimli (name chosen by me), Yoda (chosen by my little brother) and Tess! But you'll know this if you've seen my Instagram. Way too many animal pictures.

16) I am a big fantasy film and book fan. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, His Dark Materials, Doctor Who, all of them, i love!

17) I have three brothers. Two older, one younger, and they all have thick hair whilst mine is super thin. I am very jealous to say the least.

18) I used to browse the ASO New In Fashion page almost every day, now it's the New In Beauty page. Full on convert!

19) In my time i have burnt at least 4 people accidentally, and one of them even had to go to the hospital. I don't know why my parents trust me with matches!

20) I have a ridiculous amount of shoes, 40+ pairs if i'm being exact (ish). I just can't resist them!

21) I don't like birds, except magpies. Magpies are pretty & always come in pairs, so they're never lonely. I've decided that my next tattoo will involve them, at least some way!

22) I can't go on a night out without painting my toe nails. A weird OCD thing!

23) I'm probably the most accident prone and clumsy person in the entire world. Honestly, i crash into things at least 10 times a day.

24) I currently work in a shoe shop called Skechers, and it is there where i have met some of the most hilarious people ever.

25) My main aim in life is to is to be able to afford a nice house, a car and to have a family including children, a cat and a dog! (Maybe even a horse if i'm lucky!)

Thankyou & goodnight!
